Given the state of the money markets at the moment it's no wonder the Ministry of Finance topped the August figures for Google, with the K & H Bank at number 14. New referendum on citizenship for ethnic Hungarians?

The story is currently been carried on the Budapest Sun Online website. "Miklós Patrubány, President of the World Federation of Hungarians (MVSz), has called for Hungary's voters to be given another referendum on whether citizenship should be granted to ethnic Hungarians in neighboring countries."

Not really sure about this one. If somebody is that intrested, whether it be that they are ethnically from that countries background or even economically intrested in being a citizen of another then maybe they could move there? However, in today's World the movement of populations highlight that this is not so straight forward and that maybe dual nationality is the way forward in the short term. Maybe to some degree this is why the original referendum failed. Your thoughts.....

It's worth reading this article. Forgetting the past is at your peril. Taking on all of those modern european ways, where you constantly look west is wrong. The Bohemtanya represents Hungarian cooking at it's best. Yeah the decor needs an update but again does that mean that you lose the atmosphere.....? The full article can be seen at.

On the Sunday evening we visited Bohémtanya, there were no old bohemians in evidence. Perhaps they've since traded in their beatnik threads for corporate suits and joined the business world. I don't know. But, rather surprisingly, the non-smoking room was full, and only one group was speaking Hungarian.
