Interested in Economics? More in particular to Central European Economics? Then take a look at the book "Central Europe in The Twentieth Century: An Economic Perspective". The book contains 9 chapters covering; Economic Development in the Interwar Period. The Diversity of the Czechoslovakia between 1918 and 1991; Economic Nationalism in Poland; The Rise and fall of Yugoslavia; Transformation and the Legacy of Backwardness, Romanian Perspective; Collapse of East Germany, Interwar Stagnation and Prosperity in Austria after 1945 and Property Rights, East West Relations. The book basically covers the major economic issues of the Twentieth Century, worth having.
My first post of 2007 and it's a book surprise surpise! Politics in Eastern Europe was one of my core study books for my Politics course in the final year of my Contemporary East European Studies Course, with George Schopflin taking this particular part of the degree course. George is now a member of the European Parliament.
Another Concise History of Hungary that graces my book collection.
There are not too many text books on the history of Slovakia but this is one worth getting..
A good introduction to the History of Hungary.
A very good book, excellent book for describing life under Communism..
