It has come to light that the US is planning a missile defence system in Eastern Europe, despite what Oh My News, is carrying on Czech polls showing an overwhelming vote of saying "no", despite the backing of the Czech Prime Minister, Mirek Topolanek. According to Lt Gen Vladimir Popovkin, a commander of Russia's space forces, in an interview with the BBC
"It is very doubtful that elements of the national US missile defence system in eastern Europe were aimed at Iranian missiles, as has been stated," he said.
Moscow has warned of "negative consequences" if Prague agrees to host the missile system.
This is dare I say it yet another example of not taking into account the feelings of other countries to such projects, leaders again not listening....Similar projects have also been agreed with th Polish Government. The fact is they are leading Europe into a Second Cold War at a time when energy resources are becoming scarce, this is a dangerous game to play, especially when Russia hold's all the cards in respect to energy in Europe.
According to the BBC the population in eastern europe will drop by a third by 2050 due to a drop in the birth rate. So how will this affect the region, will it slow economic growth for the region? Will it mean an increase in the number of foreigners that populate the region to take up the slack?
According to the BBC the Polish Government has announced a bill that will punish former members of the Secret Police. The new bill will look at baring them from public jobs and will also lead to a cut in any state benefits.

Many in Poland are unhappy that the Government has tried to focus on people who collaborated with the Secret Police rather than targeting those who were in the secret police. This will go some way to rectify the situation.
According to the BBC the New Archbishop of Warsaw has come under attack due to his alleged involvement in spying on priest during the 1970's, for the Communist Party.

The fact is that many in East European society did this at various levels the only reason this is getting any publicity is the nature and rank of position that this particular individual has got to.
The BBC is reporting that the consulate in Chisinau is being overwhelemed by Moldovans with ties to Romania.
